Finding a great dentist is hard. I have had trouble every time I looked. I wrote this article to help people find a dentist easier for their needs. Please do follow this article step-by-step and you will hopefully have a great dentist.
Step 1: The first thing you have to do is see if you have insurance. Most people don't have dental insurance. Either way, you will probably need to verify the coverage with your employer. If you don't have insurance, prepare for a ton of expense. Sometimes your out of pocket fees can be hundreds of dollars even if you have insurance. This can all be verified with a simple call to your insurer.
Step 2: Research. You need to do your research so that you understand why the dentist is treating you the way he is. Just google the problem you have to see what websites are saying about the treatments. You can also ask the dentist questions that may have come in your mind during your research. Write all these answers down though so you can refer to them in the dentist's office later.
Step 3: Now you need to find your doctor. Google can help you with this too. If you do a search for your city and dentist, you will find a number of results including yelp. I love using yelp because I can get pretty accurate ratings from patients like me. Once you have selected a doctor, you will need to verify that doctor is covered by your insurance policy.
Step 4: Insure you are following through with the doctor's treatment. Now if this is a general cleaning and the doctor says you need to floss more, try to floss more. Remind yourself daily by leaving a sticky note on the bathroom mirror. Remember this is your health!
