Why Eating Junk Food Destroys More Than Your Health

By Joseph D. Cooper

Although eating the wrong stuff might make you feel good for a moment the effects are long lasting on both your health and even your relationships. We are all aware of what happens to the waistline when we indulge in eating the wrong foods but not many people know of the damage that our teeth sustain when we consume foods rich in sugar and fat.

It is quite ironic that the very things we use to chew the bad quality foods we love are the very same things those foods are damaging. Here are the reasons why bad eating habits do more than just make us fat.

It has been reported via CNN that more than 90 million Americans suffer from Halitosis, which is bad breath. Although many are inclined to dismiss it as being inconsequential, bad breath can indicate a more serious underlying issue. Bad breath should not last longer than 24 hours after eating food.

Being overweight can make finding a date difficult enough but having bad breath just makes it harder. Of course some foods taste great but it is really a question of whether they are beneficial for you. If you have decided that the time is right to lose weight and freshen your breath then consider the following information.

Keep Hydrated

In addition to increasing your metabolism, drinking lots of water may also help you overcome your halitosis. A dry mouth can be a virtual breeding ground for offensive-smelling bacteria on your tongue.

Eat Your Daily Serving of Fruits

The real secret to weight loss comes from not starving yourself but from eating the right foods. The same holds true for fighting bad breath. The real secret here is the chewing action. Fruits, because of their texture, are great at scrubbing away the bad germs from the mouth.

It is surprising just how much an offensive breath can affect our relationships whether personal or professional. Instead of dismissing the issue it is advisable to fact it and take the action you need to so you can enjoy a fresh future.
