The Use Of Botox In Cosmetic Dental Practices

By George Benton

Cosmetics designed to stop our skin from burrowing or wrinkling contain the chemical known as botox. This medicinal chemical is administered to the infected skin area by means of injection. This chemical can also find a place in cosmetic dentistry where it can help to bring down the degeneration of the teeth and the oral cavity.

The main source of botox is the purified botulimum toxin. It works by stopping or slowing the activity of the nerve impulses that causes the muscles to contract hence cause wrinkles. The challenge is that this does not last permanently and therefore requires that you repeat after every 6 months.

There have been many reactions for using botox for reducing the degeneration of dental health. The chemical is allowed for certain reasons and is also avoided at times for some reasons. The big question that lingers in everyone's mind is whether this cosmetic chemical should be administered by the dentists despite the same being a non-dental formulae or whether the dentists should prioritize the dental health.

The points on both the arguments are valid and good enough. People who are looking for a one place to get all the issues resolved with regards to their face, are in agreement to the usage of the botox by dentists. Their idea is to have a life that is not only free from diseases but the one that is also peaceful and good to live.

Most of the common practitioners of dentistry are more than willing to use botox along with other dental services. They want to expand their practice by including more services apart from the regular dental related ones. The specialists of dentistry however think this is a job for cosmetic surgeons or beautifying experts.

Those against the procedure, most of whom are specialists feel that it would water down the professional look that they portray. They therefore feel that they should not be added this non-professional work. Besides, the current use of botox is domineered by pharmaceutical companies which may be biased. This is feared as a likely source of biased information.

If we have more doctors prescribing us with botox, it can only be beneficial to us. One has to be careful about letting the dentists using the chemical as it can result in abuse. This will also increase chances of fake doctors in the field of botox.
