When You Or Someone You Know May Need Dentures Solihull Or Other False Teeth

By Gursh Bajwa

For a variety of reasons, replacing natural teeth that are no longer capable of their jobs is important. Dentures Solihull is the common name for removable false teeth, while those that are implanted or attached are often referred to by other names.

The reasons for having false teeth range from practical (it's hard to chew without sufficient teeth) to personal (people often have sunken faces if they are lacking most of their teeth). Even things like the ability to enunciate properly can be difficult without enough teeth, and be reason enough to have them replaced.

The false teeth can either be full or partial. Some partial types are removable, and some are not. The non-removable ones are typically referred to as bridges, and contain one or more false teeth permanently attached to the neighboring teeth. They are more expensive than removable ones, but more stable and easier to take care of.

Casting the person's mouth is necessary to make a full and removable set of replacement teeth. But partial teeth don't need to be so specific, and may or may not be custom made. Any casts are made at your dentist's office, but typically he or she sends them away to a specialty dental laboratory in order to have the actual prosthetic made.

Common problems with dentures Solihull include gagging, excess saliva, and sore spots. Gagging can be physical or mental, and the treatment depends on what is triggering it. Sore spots are generally relieved by making adjustments to the device, in order to make it fit better. And excess saliva usually stops being produced within the first day, once the body gets used to the device.

False teeth do not have the same chewing power as natural teeth, and patients who have any of their own teeth should attempt to keep them, as they provide support to the false ones. Implants, while more expensive than conventional removable false teeth, are also more stable and may be easier to live with. Talk to your dentist if you have any questions.
